A glimmer of hope

Hope

Tears today for France. What is there to say that isn’t already on everyone’s hearts and minds?

Inside our humanity, if we believe – and don’t stop looking for it, there is a glimmer of hope that despite the daily horrors we’re seeing unfold across the world, right will prevail. Good, in whatever form it takes, must win out. Right?

Downward spirals, leaching negativity and fear threaten to drag us down. What can we do other than begin the change we want to see, however small that beginning? If every one of us reached out to one person today and tried to make their day better, however naive that might seem, perhaps in some small way we could begin to counter the sad, the senseless, the wrong and the cruel?

There has to be the beginning of something new in order to end something old.

Shock

A few weeks ago my family lost a much-loved man. There was no way to prepare for something so unexpected. By definition, a shock takes your breath away, shakes you to the core and leaves you diminished. The universe has been dented and there is nothing we can do to change that. Continue reading

Thanks again for all your support, feedback and messages of encouragement. A special thank you to everyone who took the time to write a review for Tuesday’s Socks. Much appreciated.

Now – back to finishing #3!

Best wishes to everyone, for a very merry Christmas.

Tuesday’s Socks … is now available!

Option-2

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer and are, as I am myself, ready for the crisp mornings and beautiful colours of autumn.

As many of you know my first novel, Tuesday’s Socks, is now available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle formats. It’s also on Nook and the iBook format will be available soon via the iTunes store.

It’s very exciting to see my baby in print and sincere thanks to everyone who has already bought copies. Thanks also for sending me your feedback and for posting your reviews on Amazon as all that feedback is welcome.

I’m hard at work editing the next book and will keep you updated on progress.

Once again, thank you. I appreciate all your support very much.

Alison.

What’s mine is yours….

intersecting-rings

Have you ever noticed that the longer you are with someone the more their history, stories, memories and experiences become part of your own? I’ve often seen couples, who’ve been together a long time, share stories with us, not recounting which of them actually had the experience. Somehow, it doesn’t matter. Continue reading

Thirty minutes

A friend of mine posted something very thought provoking on Facebook today. The picture was of a beautiful view out to sea, from up on a cliff. A simple park bench sat there and the caption read ‘If you could sit on this bench and chat for an hour, with someone from the past, who would it be?’ Continue reading
